Our implantologist will be happy to help you with a fixed construction.

An implant for more firmness in your mouth

You can opt for implants if you:

  • Want to replace one or more teeth.
  • Want to click your dentures onto implants.

Implants are suitable for most people. In addition, a number of conditions apply:

  • There must be sufficient (healthy) jaw bone in which the implant can grow.
  • The gums around the existing teeth or molars must be healthy, or must be possible to make healthy again.
  • You must be prepared to maintain your teeth on a daily basis.
  • You are healthy and have no immune diseases.
  • Your jaw must have grown out, usually from the age of 18.

At De Tandenpraktijk we can perform all implant treatments in our practice. These treatments are always done by our dental implantologist.

How it works

X-rays

First we map out your wishes and we make a series of X-rays that the implantologist consults with the dentist and if needed the prosthodontist. After extensive research, we will advise you whether implants are suitable for you.

Implant

Placing implants is quite easy. You will be given a local anesthetic for this.

Rest period

In order for the implant to properly grow into the jawbone and promote healing, you must take into account a rest period of 3 to 4 months. In the meantime, you can use your teeth without any problems.

Placement

After the rest period, we will place your new teeth, such as a crown, bridge or dentures.

Frequently Askes Questions

What is an implant?

An implant is an artificial root that is screwed into the jawbone. This artificial root replaces an absent tooth root and provides support for a crown, bridge or dentures. The screw of an implant is usually made of titanium. This material is well accepted by our body. After the healing process, the implant is firmly anchored in the bone.
